Fencing Edict

We, Balfar and Luna, King and Queen of these Eastern Lands, do hereby issue this edict.

Only schlagers will be permitted for Fencing Tournaments conducted at Royal Progresses. At all times, His Majesty will be fencing only with schlagers. His Majesty will fence only those who will take up the same to fence him. We do wish to be clear that this is not intended to be a hardship to anyone. This edict will take effect as of this November 2003 and will continue throughout Our Reign.

This is done for several reasons. We also wish fencing to become more period and to eliminate injuries from broken epees. We are truly proud of our fencers and take great pleasure in seeing more and more of you seeking out the 1600 and earlier roots of fencing.
